Psychotherapy with Sophie

What is it?

Psychotherapy is a space just for you – a supportive, non-judgemental place to talk about what’s going on in your life, your mind and your emotions. It’s about getting to know yourself better and working through anything that feels heavy, confusing or stuck.

Together, we’ll explore the roots of your anxiety or stress, uncover the limiting beliefs holding you back and work with practical tools to help you regain a sense of balance and calm.

How it works

We meet once a week, and through open conversation and gentle exploration, we’ll start to untangle thoughts, feelings and patterns that might be holding you back. We'll find the tools that work best for you to help you manage your anxiety and stress. It’s a collaborative process – you’re not doing it alone.

I work pluralistically, which means I don’t stick to just one style of therapy. I’m trained in person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and I draw from all three to shape an approach that feels right for you and what you need.

I'm based in North London, offering counselling and psychotherapy in-person and online.

Do you only work with anxiety?

No – I work with a whole range of areas! Therapy can support you with a whole range of mental health issues and you don’t need to be in crisis to benefit – therapy is also for growth, clarity and connection.

Other areas I work with:
Depression
Low self-esteem
Relationship issues
Self-sabotage
Trauma
Alcohol misuse
Disordered eating
Sexual abuse
Domestic abuse

What to expect

Consultation
We’ll start with a 15 minute phone call so I can understand what’s on your mind. This is also time for you to ask any questions – it's essential you find the right therapist for you.

First session
In the first session, we’ll talk about what’s bringing you here, what you’d like support with and what you hope to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out – we’ll go at your pace.

Sessions
Everyone who sits in front of me is different, and we'll work together to ensure the approach is right for you. I encourage collaboration and open communication and we'll check in along the way to see what’s working and what feels right for you.

How many sessions do I need?

Everyone’s journey is different. Many of my clients find 8-10 sessions can be transformative. However, some people come for a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others stay longer for deeper self-exploration and growth.
