Psychotherapy with Sophie

Psychotherapy is a space just for you – a supportive, non-judgemental place to talk about what's going on in your life, your mind and your emotions. It's about getting to know yourself better and working through anything that feels heavy, confusing or stuck.

Together, we'll explore the roots of your anxiety or stress, uncover the limiting beliefs holding you back and work with practical tools to help you regain a sense of balance and calm.

How it works

Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to help you understand yourself better, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges with more ease and confidence.

I take a pluralistic approach, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models – including person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT – to find the right approach for you. We'll work together to create a tailored therapy plan that meets your unique needs and goals.

I offer in-person sessions in Shoreditch and online sessions for clients across the UK.

Do you work only with anxiety?

While I specialise in anxiety, I work with a wide range of mental health issues. Therapy can help with growth, clarity, connection, and navigating life's challenges – whatever you're facing.

Other areas I work with:

  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Relationship issues
  • Self-sabotage
  • Trauma
  • Alcohol misuse
  • Disordered eating
  • Sexual abuse
  • Domestic abuse

What to expect

Consultation

We'll start with a 15-minute phone call to understand what you're looking for and whether I'm the right therapist for you. This is a chance for you to ask any questions and get a sense of how I work.

First session

In our first session, we'll explore what brings you to therapy and what you'd like to achieve. There's no pressure to share everything at once – we'll go at your pace.

Sessions

Therapy is a collaborative process. I'll check in regularly to make sure we're working in a way that feels helpful for you, and we'll adjust our approach as needed. You're always welcome to share what's working and what isn't.

How many sessions do I need?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients find 8-10 sessions transformative, while others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper exploration. We'll work together to find the right pace and duration for you.

Location

My practice room is located at City Therapy Studio on City Road, a 5 minute walk from Old Street Station. My office is on the first floor, without lift access - so is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

Address: 202 City Rd, London EC1V 2PH.
